The Old Town Architecture The buildings that belong to the old folklore architecture exist next to each other in perfect harmony without mutual disturbance.
The numerous churches, basilicas, bridges, paved streets talk about the existence of the old town. Many of them unfortunately disappeared in time, but those that survived are the pride of Struga citizens and an evidence of what happened in the past.
The architecture of the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century can be noticed on Struga houses. The houses are extraordinary because the exterior walls were built without many decorative elements. The ceilings are decorated with deep wood carving art which gives them an especially beautiful look. A large number of houses have a harmonious architecture and accurate arrangement of the rooms. Most of the house with preserved architecture can be found in the following streets: Goce Delcev, Niko Nestor, Braka Miladinovci etc.
The citizens of Struga can be proud of the old crafts since its culture and tradition are characteristic for each town.
The large numbers of the old crafts are preserved in Struga. The people who continued the crafts work in the shops of their grand-grand fathers are in the old trade street. The following old crafts are preserved: traditional production of silver jewellery, Ohrid pearls, manual production of filigree jewellery, the old fashioned weaving, wood carving art and many, many other crafts that are characteristic for this region and are the pride of the citizens of Struga.
