About the project:

The Library Premises of the Public Library "Braka Miladinovci" in Struga were neglected and not suitable to the needs of the citizens. Using the experience of our Finnish partners and the model of libraries in Finland, we engaged in helping the transformation of the current library into a modern multifunctional center. The main goal of the project is to transform and develop the library into a multifunctional citizens’ information centre and a meeting point, benefiting from modern IT - technology.

Results:

• Prepared functional model of a library by a group of experts
• Created the structure of the new multifunctional centre
• Prepared complete technical documentation for the library premises
• Introduced a new concept of service delivery
• Engaged a consultant for preparation of architectural plans to modernize the city's library, including renovation of the premises
• Renovated rooms in the library
• Organized workshop on Millennium Development Goals for the primary and secondary schools in the municipality of Struga
• Organized contest personal work on "Millennium Development Goals"
