Access to (self)employment

Macedonian Enterprise Development Foundation (MDF) in collaboration with the Local Development Agency Struga (LDA Struga) are implementing the project "Access to (self) employment".

The project is funded by the European Union under the Operational Program for Human Resources Development 2007 - 2013, through the Department for Financing and Contracting - CFCD the Ministry of Finance.

The project aims to increase the job skills of the target group to enter the job market. Target group Roma population and Egyptians, men and women, not excluding the other ethnic groups. The project is implemented in the Skopje region and the southwestern region of Macedonia. After completion of the project is expected to contribute to involve the target group in the labor market.

First, by informing and motivating the target group to identify three groups of participants in the project activities: unemployed, people who are actively seeking work and entrepreneurs and start-api. They will create professional profiles that will focus on specific training under the project which includes:

  • job training / internship for a period of two months in which to engage unemployed persons actively seeking work;
  • training for active job search and communication skills aimed at unemployed people and job seekers;
  • entrepreneurship training in which they can engage entrepreneurs and owners of start-up businesses;
  • training for technical skills for a period of three months aimed at unemployed people and job seekers.

The project includes research based on which will prepare an analysis of the obstacles for the registration of start-up businesses and (self) employment and will provide guidance to overcome them. The experience of the project and the results will be presented at the final conference of the project.

With the implementation of the project will achieve the following results:

  • increased potential for finding work of the target group;
  • increased skills (self) employment potential entrepreneurs;
  • developed technical skills for the target group;
  • addressed motivational factors for registration of start-up businesses.

Time frame: December 2016 - December 2017.
