Highlights of 1st Work Package “Get Ready” - Conducting research within project Beyond Borders-Introducing Smart Tourism and Sharing Economy IPA CBC MK-AL 2014-2020

Within this activity, which was implemented in the period 15.04.2018- 30.11.2018, interview questions for European Tourism Indicators System for sustainable destination-ETIS (visitor, resident, destination management, and enterprise interview questions), were distributed to the relevant stakeholders from the CBC region.
The innovative aspect of the methodology for R&D component is the use of European Tourism Indicator System (ETIS). For the first time was made an attempt to use in the CBC region. The use of ETIS in this project provided a measuring and monitoring tool for tourist destinations in CB region and support the beneficiaries through trainings and guidance to adopt a more intelligent approach to tourism planning (including process and methodology) and a sustainable management approach and to enhance their sustainability performances.
